Week 6 Weigh in at the gym

My goal weight -- 150 pounds

(I had my dates wrong before)
(Now they are correct)
OCT. 27th, 2012
1st Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

DEC. 8th, 2012
Week 6 weigh-in ... 281 pounds
Total...17 pounds lost.

I did weight 301lbs. 2 weeks prior
to starting with the trainer at the
gym. After 8 weeks, I have lost
a grand total of 20 pounds

Not much more than this to update on. I was sick this past week and did my weigh in at home. I know my scales weigh different from the one at the gym, but it gives me an idea of where I am in my weight loss. I did this a fews weeks back and in the following week, lost 3 or 4 pounds. Hoping for the same at this coming Saturday's weigh in at the gym.

I am this much closer to my goal now, slowly but surely I am on my way to acheiving it,
with God's help. Thank you Lord!

Week 5 Weigh in at the gym

My goal weight -- 150 pounds
(I had my dates wrong before)
(Now they are correct)
OCT.  27th, 2012
1st Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

DEC. 1st, 2012
Week 5 weigh-in ... 282 pounds
Total...16 pounds lost.

I did weight 301lbs. 2 weeks prior
to starting with the trainer at the
gym. After 7 weeks, I have lost
a grand total of 19 pounds

Today I actually did some working out at the gym with weights (very little work out, but It did bring on a sweat).
It hurt but I wanted Brian to be proud of me, I actually did everything. I was proud of me because I saw it through. Now I am paying for it and most of my friends know exactly what I am talking about. I do this everytime I lift any weight, including myself. I have got to find out what is causing this other than the doctor saying it's just the change of life and that I have to be more careful when it comes to lifting.
How am I going to ever get anywhere til this stops? All I know is back before the weight came on, I didn't do this so much, unless I moved furniture in the house, or something major like that.

I am not going to give up, I am going to figure this out somehow, even if I have to wear a tight girdle to hold up my tummy weight, LOL! I hate girdle's! Maybe as kidney belt?

I got to go to the gym this evening...

I got to go to the gym this evening and I had a great work out.
I worked out in the pool which helps me a LOT! I am able to do so much more in the pool without it bothering my heart at all!

I walked 1 mile distance which took me 40 minutes to do. Then for 30 more minutes I did some basic exercises in the pool. When I stepped out of the pool my legs felt like jello, LOL! It took me a few minutes to actually get them to where I could walk normal again.

You would be surprised at just how much more your muscles work when you are in the pool compared to being out of the pool. It's like double the benefits in half the time which is nice.

Went to the gym Saturday

My goal weight -- 150 pounds

OCT 27th, 2012
1st Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

NOV. 24th, 2012
Week 2 weigh-in ... 287 pounds
Total...12 pounds lost.
1 pound gained.

Went to the gym Saturday. Not much to add other than the new scale he weighed me on said I had gained 1 pound. My scale at home weighed me at a 1 pound loss but I know I should have lost 2 pounds.
I did eat over my points 1 day and guess that blew the 1 pound. Guess it's the muscle, after all, I am doing some weight reps, arms and legs and core.

Not discouraged though, I know it will be slow but it will happen.

Week 3- Weigh-In

My goal weight -- 150 pounds

NOV. 10th, 2012
1st Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

NOV. 18th, 2012
Week 2 weigh-in ... 286 pounds
Total...12 pounds lost.

Slowly but surely, the tortoise is winning the race! I look at it this way, a slow and steady weight loss will be a lifestyle than can be maintained. A new way of life becoming the norm. I also know that with a slower weight loss, my skin will have a much better chance if shrinking down and tightening giving less loose skin in the end. Don't get me wrong, I know there may be some that will always be loose because of my age, but less is always better. I saw this 59 year old woman (same age as I am) on a morning TV show who started on a new lifestyle of healthy eating and increased activity to lose weight. She also had the same weight loss goal as mine, 150 pounds and she did it. She didn't have any lose skin at all and she did it just like I am, with Weight Watchers and a good regimen of activity and exercise. She lost her weight in right at 1 year. I am also looking at a year for me to reach my goal.
Stay realistic, stay on course and the race will be won!

NOV 16, Just checking in with updates!

Hey everyone, I am checking in to let you know how it is going with me.

I really pushed my points day before yesterday and thought I was going to mess up. I did, I went over my points that day. So, what I did the next day was stay low on my points and did yard work. I cleaned up the leaves and bagged them. Worked for 6 hours on that yesterday. I had points left last night so that made me feel good. I ate low on my points again today and worked in the yard again for 4 hours.

Tomorrow will be my 3rd. weigh in. My trainer will be gone on a re-treat tomorrow so I am suppose to do the weigh in myself here at home. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will have lost at least 2 more pounds.

I have finished my front yard and now will be moving onto the back yard tomorrow. I am hoping that will make the pounds drop!! Still doing the 20 reps, sets of 3 as well. He will be adding pool exercises for me to start doing next week, 2 days a week.

Say a pray for Brian on his re-treat that the Lord will Bless him abundantly! happy

Not so good today!

I am not doing so good today. I have felt down all day and rather sluggish.
I have already ate all but 8.37 of my points for the day and it's just 6:22.

Guess it's the weather, I don't know, but today was not a good day for me,
just felt down and a bit depressed. Just don't know why.

Praying for a better tomorrow. Think I will do some knitting on a scarf and just chill til bedtime.

NOV-12 What did I do today?

Let me see, what DID I do today.
I did my 20 reps, sets of 3 - day two, I was a tad more active in the house. Not much more different I don't guess than every other day except I am finding myself becoming more able. I have begun to notice some changes taking place in my body and I am actually feeling better. I feel more like moving because a lot of the usual aches and pains that use to come with that task are disappearing. Oh there are still a few hangin in there, but not like it use to be when I did the simplest of task. I could walk across the floor and hurt like I had done a 30 minute workout, and my heart was in the mix as well and not in a good way either.

Oh yes, I did also do some dancing today. It wasn't anything like I use to be able to do back in the day mind you, but I was bouncing around and getting my moves on never the less, LOL! I logged into my Pandora and turned on Disco and went at it. I find that kind of moving around a lot of fun and accomplishing my goal too. 30 minutes worth at an easy pace and the sweat did begin to pop the last 5 to 10 minutes, and my heart did really good this time! I can see that I am beginning to set my body up for the ability now to be able to do more, do things that I haven't been able to do in so long. Even my posture seems better, more errect. I still have a very long way to go but let me tell you, the short distance I have come so far makes a world of difference in how I feel now compared to 3 weeks ago, it's worlds apart.
I am loving it, every little bit of it!

I had a great day today!

I had a great day today!
I did my first reps today with 5 lb weights. Brian is having me to do 20 reps, 3 sets each.

1. I do 20 reps, 3 sets of "Dumbbell Shoulder Press"
From a sitting possition, I do 20 reps, then rest for a minute, then repeat that 2 more times.

2. Then I do 20 reps, 3 sets of "Dumbell Curls"

3. Then I do 20 reps, 3 sets of "Chair Squats"

I do these 5 days a week and believe me, they aren't as easy as they look. Today was my first day to do this and I used the 5 lb weights. My arms said NOOOO! To heavy, LOL!
I found 2 lb weights at Walmart and brian, my trainer said those would be just fine to start with.

Off to bed now, but I did want to first post what my day was like, to share with you how I am coming along with my new lifestyle.
I also found two new recipes today, healthy and low in points. One is a keeper, the other one I can do without, not so tastey to my palate.

Night all!

Week 2- Weigh-In

My goal weight -- 150 pounds

NOV. 3rd, 2012
1st Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

NOV. 10th, 2012
Week 2 weigh-in ... 288 pounds
Total...10 pounds lost.

No pics today but I did loose 4 more pounds. So sweet, I am truely being blessed. My trainer Brian is the reason for my success thus far. By this time on my own I have usually failed. He keeps me motivated. He also reminds me that this is not only for me as I succeed through this journey, it's to be for a blessing to others, all to the Glory of God.

Yes, I am on my way. Thanks God.... Thanks for sending me your servant Brian into my life.
You touched his heart, you knew my need. Together we will bless each other as well as many others.
The seeds have been planted and they are being watered.

Week 1-- Weigh-In

My goal weight -- 150 pounds

OCT. 27th, 2012
1st Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

NOV. 3rd, 2012
Week 1 weigh-in ... 292 pounds
6 pounds lost.

I have tried to do this before, a few times, and failed.
I began this time on Weight Watchers and I am loving it!
The weight is actually coming off, and I am really enjoying the food.

Not a lot has changed as to what I eat, just learning the basic knowlege of  portion control.
I don't eat the fatty foods like I use to. I can eat them sometimes but they are not that much a part of my lifestyle anymore, and I am not missing a thing.
I do occasionally have a serving of ice cream or a serving of "Cheetos" and sometimes an 8oz soda, but I am not consuming the amounts like I use to (all in portion control).

I go to the gym regularly and do water aerobics, and I walk short distances. I do a little dancing at home because 1- it's a fun way to be active and 2- I can do it inside when the weather is bad. Not much I can do right now because I have let myself go for so long that it has affected my health. I have to watch my heart right now but I am told that it will slow down as my body becomes more adjusted to the active lifestyle. I have let myself settle into an in-active lifestyle over the past few years and it is killing me, LITERALLY!
I had no idea just how fast you could get this way, it will sneak up on you before you know what's happened.

My weight loss journey!

My goal weight -- 150 pounds

OCT. 27th, 2012
Weigh-in at the gym ... 298 pounds

The before pic in my weight loss journey...

I took this pic back in the spring when I was first going to tackle this weight problem,
but as time past, I never got anywhere with what I was trying to do. Now I am going to
the gym and actually making some headway this time.

I weighed 300 pounds in this pic and I was that weight back a few weeks ago when I
got ready to go for it one more time, not to fail this time. I am looking at it now as a
lifestyle change.
